curled up in her bed, all she could dream of was the splash of water, the gentle lapping of it at her skin. the bluish tones that surrounded her, slowly engulfing her, as though consuming her whole. the tickle of stray droplets fresh on her face, the pleasant chill that flowed through her veins. she closed her eyes, simply sinking down, down, down into the endless depths of the water, as it slowly swallowed her whole–mind, body, and soul. the freedom the water gave her, and the constricting feeling it washed her over in, created a most enthralling juxtaposition. finally, she was at peace. it was a dream she wished she would never have to wake up from.

we are no different from the ravaging creatures we call beasts- we kill, maim, and tear lives apart. and yet, the audacity that we have, to call ourselves the superior race. for in truth, is our true nature not akin to that of these beasts? are we not one of them?

or perhaps, were they created in our image, as we were created in God's? whichever conclusion we may choose, it begs the question: what is it that we have, that warrants our patronizing nature towards the ones we call beasts? are we not the same?

And in the dense shrubbery somewhere, I feel as though I've lost my heart in the wilderness of it all. Nature has claimed it for herself, and shall be reunited with her once more. For it was never mine to begin with, but fashioned from the whispers she confided in Man.
And now that her secret is no longer hers to keep, she will reclaim all that is left to claim, the secrecy of all that was once known – yet vastly unknown – preserved in the leafy thickets and web of vines for evermore.
